BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Thames & Severn Canal Company, Joseph Sills (1758-1828), superintendent of trade for the Thames & Severn Canal Company (dissolved in 1800), with offices in Upper Thames Street, London, Copper Halfpenny, 1795, obv barge under sail, THAMES AND SEVERN CANAL around, MDCCXCV in exergue, plain sails, rev entrance to a tunnel, brickwork extends all through the tunnel, edge PAYABLE AT BRIMSCOMBE PORT X (Atkins p.33, 39; D&H Gloucestershire 60). A lttle detritus, otherwise good extremely fine.
