Son of Obadiah Westwood and nephew of John Westwood, the elder. His name has been linked with various medals of a political nature including those of the Birmingham Association and Greatheed Petition although this is unconfirmed. What is known is that the younger Westwood was responsible for quite a few specious tokens and those made for collectors, including nearly thirty varieties of Half-Halfpennies that Dalton and Hamer distributed among eight separate counties.
