BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Wright & Palmer, David Wright (1743-1811) and Stephen Palmer (1749-1828) were both mercers, Copper Halfpenny, 1793, obv Wainfleet Abbey, 1459 below, FOUNDED BY WILLIAM WAYNEFLETE around, rev figure of Hope, left arm resting on anchor, finger of right hand touches first E of WAINFLEET, edge PAYABLE IN LONDON BRISTOL & LANCASTER (Atkins p.69, 9c; D&H Lincolnshire 8c). From the fractured reverse die, softly struck, otherwise good extremely fine with faded colour remaining very rare.
