BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Wright & Palmer, David Wright (1743-1811) and Stephen Palmer (1749-1828) were both mercers, Copper Halfpenny, 1793, obv Wainfleet Abbey, 1459 below, FOUNDED BY WILLIAM WAYNEFLETE around, rev figure of Hope, left arm resting on anchor, finger of right hand touches first E of WAINFLEET, edge ON DEMAND WE PROMISE TO PAY (D&H Lincolnshire 8d). From the fractured reverse die, a little verdigris and the reverse stained, otherwise extremely fine with a fair amount of colour remaining, very rare.
