REX ET REG around, rev crown above two joined hearts in outline, PATRONS OF VIRTUE around, stop close to E of VIRTUE, cross on the crown aligns slightly to right of the base of O of OF, edge plain (Conder p.246, 16; Atkins p.380, 197; D&H Middlesex 1137). Essentially as made and attractively toned, very rare.
Partnered with his brother, Peter in a die-sinking firm from 1796 onward. Together they were employed by Peter Kempson (and others) to engrave dies for tokens and medals.
