BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Uncertain issuer, White Metal Halfpenny, obv bust of Earl Howe left, INSCRIBED TO THE TARS OF OLD ENGLAND *, rev anchor and cable, IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GLORIOUS FIRST OF JUNE 1794, edge plain (Conder p.227, 142; Atkins p.372, 120; D&H Hampshire 39). Surfaces a little rough, otherwise nearly very fine for issue and very rare.

A good many of the imitation tokens and mules listed can likely be traced to the shop of William Lutwyche. However, at this point it is purely conjecture so, for the time being, they remain listed as having uncertain origin.
