BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Uncertain Issuer, Specious Copper Halfpenny (2), 1794, obv female seated on rock, BIRMINGHAM COINING AND COPPER COMPANY around, 1794, rev stork on a cornucopia, HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT around, edge PAYABLE AT LONDON LIVERPOOL OR BRISTOL (Conder p.162, 16; Virt p.64; Atkins p.209, 48a; D&H Warwickshire 73a); edge BIRMINGHAM REDRUTH & SWANSEA followed by symbols of the zodiac (D&H unlisted, Davisson as Warwickshire 73e). Extremely fine for issue, D&H 73e from failing dies and exceedingly rare. (2)

A good many of the imitation tokens and mules listed can likely be traced to the shop of William Lutwyche. However, at this point it is purely conjecture so, for the time being, they remain listed as having uncertain origin.
