BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, SCOTLAND, James Wright Jnr, (1768-1798) token enthusiast, Copper Shilling, 1797, obv an ancient cross, separating W DES at either side, DUNDEE SILVER MEDAL PRICE ONE SHILLING around, CROSS TAKEN DOWN 1777 in exergue, no stop after DES, second S of CROSS over the N of DOWN, rev armed Highlander, FROM THE HEATH-COVER'D MOUNTAINS OF SCOTIA WE COME around, arms, supporters, and motto of Dundee, edge plain (D&H Angusshire 3). Struck from a late state of the reverse die, spot of verdigris on the obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.
