BY ANDERSON LESLIE & Co. around, UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH in exergue, rev a gardener holding a spade and a shrub, NEU SEGNES JACEANT TERRAE ETIAM MONTES CONSERERE JUVAT around, gardener's foot over ES of MONTES, edge plain in collar (Conder p.64, 5; Pye p.18, 4; Atkins p.310, 4; D&H Lothian 6). Struck from a late state of the obverse die, otherwise better than extremely fine and very rare.
