BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, SCOTLAND, Uncertain Issuer, Imitation Copper Halfpenny, 1792, obv figure of St Andrew with his cross, between thistles, NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT around, top right corner of cross points to first limb of A of LACESSET, rev arms of Edinburgh upon a shield, between thistles, crest an anchor, EDINBURGH HALFPENNY around, stop after HALFPENNY, no bands on anchor stock, top leaf on right thistle points just above foot of Y of HALFPENNY, top leaf on left thistle points to centre of E of EDINBURGH, edge LONDON LIVERPOOL OR MONTROSE (D&H Lothian 47f). Very fine for issue and extremely rare, this the only specimen traced.
