BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, SCOTLAND, Uncertain Issuer, Copper Halfpenny, 1797, obv ship under sail to right, * LEITH HALFPENNY above, three lines to left from top of royal main mast, no line hanging from end of the bowsprit, rev Britannia seated left, LEITH HALFPENNY 1797, Britannia's foot extends past groundline, large 9 substantially higher than top of first 7, edge plain (D&H unlisted, Davisson as D&H Lothian 60b). Better than fine and exceedingly rare, this the only example traced.
