Scotland 1602 (Au) 1 Sword & Sceptre, James VI (KM: 20, S-5460) James VI of Scotland was also the King of England & Ireland as James I, and in a reign spanning almost 58 years, he achieved much including surviving the infamous Gun Powder plot of 1605. Under his teneur the bible was translated into English (the King James Version). This coin has a buttery yellow complexion and is rather well struck for this type with a strong shield and well formed devices on the reverse (Eighth Coinage).
