Brazil 1726 M (Au) 20'000 Reis, Joao V(KM: 117) The dobrao is clearly one of the most important gold coins of Latin America. This coin on offer here is a very pleasing example of the Minas dobrao, with bold details and in a very high grade. The obverse legend reads IOANNES * V * D * G * PORT * ET * ALG * REX around the crowned Portuguese arms, with IN HOC SIGNO VINCES on the reverse around a cross with with the "M" mintmark in the angles. A choice well struck and lustrous coin.
