India (British) 1877 (Ag) Empress of India Medal; Medals in silver (some were struck in gold) were presented to selected noblemen and gentlemen, European and Indian, and to a selected soldier of each British and Indian regiment in India. This medal was intended to be worn around the neck via the crimson (edged with gold) riband. 57mm Diameter. This impressive medal is in an attractive condition where the medal bar is intact, but missing the riband. Design attributed to G.G.Adams.SC.
