Israel 1976 (Au) Proof 3 ounce Medallion "Light of Nations" by Marc Chagall who was one of the most prolific medal designers of the Twentieth century. (60mm diameter) and heavy (3oz, 0.916.6// 22 Carat) gold proof medallion.
The reverse shows the passage (Isaiah 42;6) The Light of Nations. The obverse depicts Moses with two stone tablets and Jerusalem in the distance. The design is impeccable as expected of Chagall, and the grade is Choice Gem Proof with no visible hairlines or marks; the edge is stamped 0.916.6/ 22 Carat; 3oz ARGOR. The obverse is signed by Marc Chagall.
The overall apearance is one of highly reflective unblemished fields with Ultra Cameo devices and is presented in its original plush blue box, also signed on the outside edge by Chagall, no COA,This is a very desirable and scarce gold medal with a mintage of less than 500 pieces.
