Abbasid, fals, Jund Qinnasrin, undated (possibly 160s?), 3.15g, obv., in margin: bismillah duriba [...] Musa b. 'Abdallah bi-Jund Qinnasrin, rev., in margin: bismillah mimma amr bihi al-amir [...]; in field: ala yaday / Musa b. 'Abdallah, 3.16g, almost very fine and of the highest rarity. The term 'Jund' denotes an administrative district, and so 'Jund Qinnasrin' presumably refers to the ardistrict with Qinnasrin as its principal town. This unpublished coin appears to be the only known occurrence of the mint-name 'Jund Qinnasrin' in the coinage record. (£1000-1500)
