Fritz Ulysse Landry from Neuchatel was selected to create the gold 20 Francs coin with the request that Helvetia should be depicted as a more maternal figure with attached hair. Landry creatively added what he thought would be an elegant lock of hair in cowlick but the Federal Council disapproved it and asked him to remove it. Only 12 protoype coins were struck of this hair curl type. It is also the only Vreneli type coin with a lettered edge. Extremely rare and famous Swiss coin.
