Julius Caesar. AR Denarius, 49-48 BC. Obv. Elephant right, trampling on serpent; in exergue, CAESAR. Rev. Pontifical emblems: culullus, aspergillum, axe and apex. Cr. 443/1. AR. g. 3.83 mm. 18.00 Good metal. A superb example, with nice light iridescent tone. Areas of weakness, otherwise about EF.
