Naval barshot "4-pounder" from the American Revolutionary War, 1776. 2450 grams, 12-1/2" long, 3-1/4" diameter. Two half-cannonballs connected by a 3/4"-wide iron bar 9" long. Found in the early 1900s in the shallow waters of Arnold's Bay, Vermont (location of the naval Battle of Valcour Island), complete and intact, in conserved and stable condition, the entire surface pitted with some surface encrustation.
