Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1651E, Latin 5, mintmark P punched over denomination 8 (unique error), with crown-alone (common variety) countermark on shield. S-P36; KM-19b; CT-511. 24.06 grams. Oval flan with 100% full and bold date, full P-E to left with the P punched over an 8 (first instance of this error that we've seen), full cross and shield but peripheries flat and lightly corroded, bold but incomplete countermark, toned fields.
