INDIA, Post-Gupta (Deccan). Uncertain. Early-5th to mid-7th centuries. Potin (16mm, 1.82 g, 2h). Deriving from Vishnukundin Lion type. Schematized lion standing right; foreleg raised / Schematized sankh shell or fish; lamp stands, or te in Devanagari flanking. Cf. Mitchiner, South I 178-82 (Vishnukundins) and 183-5 (Chalukyas); cf. Mitchiner, Non-Islamic 628-33 (Vishnukundins). Fine, obverse rough. Rare.
