EARLY MEDIEVAL AND ISLAMIC COINS AND WEIGHTS
Circa 4th-6th century. Weight of 2-ounkia (Brass with silver and copper inlay, 28x29x6mm, 52.56 g), a thick, square commercial weight with plain edges (as MAH B1), ounce of 26.28 g. Latin cross between Γ° - Β; all within an annular border (the letters and cross inlaid in silver and the border in copper). Rev. Plain. Cf. MAH 87 & 124 (poorly preserved coin weights with the same border). Brown patina with some pitting. Good fine.
