EARLY MEDIEVAL AND ISLAMIC COINS AND WEIGHTS
Circa 5th-6th century. Weight of 5-nomismata (Brass, 25x5 g 22.17), a discoid coin weight with recessed top and bottom, centering holes and a plain edge between two grooves (as MAH A23), nomisma of 4.43 g. Ν°- ? with scroll ornament above and below. Rev. Plain. CPAI 3, 2, 555-556. Blackish-gold patina. Some heavy traces of corrosion and some heavy red encrustations, otherwise, fine.
