EARLY MEDIEVAL AND ISLAMIC COINS AND WEIGHTS
Circa 6th-7th century, or later. Weight of 3-nomismata (Brass, 20x4mm, 13.21 g), a discoid coin weight with two small grooves on the edge (as MAH A 14), a flat bottom, and a slightly concave top with a prominent, raised, centering boss, nomisma of 4.40 g. Ν°- Γ with cross above. Rev. Plain. Cf. CPAI 3, 2, 574. Cf. MAH 286 (9th-13th century?). With a dark brown-gold patina and rough surfaces. About very fine.
