EARLY MEDIEVAL AND ISLAMIC COINS AND WEIGHTS
Islamic
Ottoman Empire. 18th-19th Century or earlier. Weight of 3-Dirhams (Bronze, 10x10x11mm, 8.13 g), a 'square' commercial weight in the form of a polyhedron with six square faces and eight triangular ones: the four squares on the sides are apparently decorated. CPAI Turkey 1, 161 var. (differing weight). Surfaces corroded and worn, with the apparent decoration obscure, but with a green patina. Fine.
From the Eparch Collection.
