KIMIΣΣAIΩN Flaming horned altar, galranded and with branches at either side. Basel 346 (same dies). A.J. Some softness from removed horn silver, otherwise, good fine.
From a collection in Ticino, formed over 20 years ago.qqqqqqEvans suggested that this interesting type may commemorate an alliance between Segesta and Panormos that was concluded at an altar near the Krimissos river.
