Syracuse. Hiketas, 287-278 BC. Unit (Bronze, 21mm, 9.51 g 4). ΣYPAKOΣIΩN Wreathed head of Persephone to right; behind, grain-ear. Rev. Female charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in left hand and kentron in right; in exergue, ΣΩ. SNG ANS 763 var. (different monogram on reverse). SNG Copenhagen 803 var. (head to left). A beautiful example of fine style and with a nice brown-green patina. Good very fine.
