Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 17.21 g 7), Amphipolis, c. 315-294. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; Λ above torch; below throne, monogram. Price 447. Slight die rust at eye of Herakles on obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
