Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17mm, 4.09 g 12), Abydos, c. 310-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, ME monogram; below throne, ivy leaf. Price 1560. Nicely toned. Very fine.
