British Coins, Edward I (1272-1307), groat, London, variety a (Fox 5), small crowned bust facing within quatrefoil of three lines, flowers in spandrels, rev. long cross, pellets in angles, wt. 5.70gms. (S.1379A; N.1007), some light striations on the obverse do not detract from this superb coin, which has an excellent portrait and still retains some original lustre in the lettering, with no signs of the mounting or gilding which is quite common for these coins, about extremely fine for issue, a most attractive piece (£14000-16000)
