Great Britain 2000 Queen Mother Centenary Proof Gold £5 & Limited Edition £20 Bank note In 2000 to celebrate the Cenenary of the Queen Mother, the Royal Mint in conjunction with the Bank of England released a very Limited £5 Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and a £20 Twenty Pound Banknote which features the special Cypher QM10 0 and the serial number between 000001 and 000200 and QM will not be produced for general circulation and therefore these are the only notes to have this cypher.
The reverse of the £5 Five Pound Gold Proof Crown Coin features a portrait of The Queen Mother with a background of cheering crowds in two modes of dress. Those who rejoice at her birth and those who celebrate her centenary. Below the portrait appears, with kind permission, a representation of her signature.
The obverse is a portrait of the royal couple designed by Philip Nathan.
The coin is 1.177oz, all the set is as issued in original Royal Mint packaging, this set is one of only 3000 issued and is numbered QM10 000189. Very Scarce.
