ROMAN COIN REFERENCE LOT (all hardcover except for the NNM volume). 1. Berk, Harlan. EASTERN ROMAN SUCCESSORS OF THE SESTERTIUS. 1986. 144 pages, large format, extensively illustrated with easy-to-use line drawings. This is a particularly helpful reference on Byzantine bronze coins. Blue cloth, gold stamped title. As new, fresh. 2. David MacDowall. THE WESTERN COINAGES OF NERO. ANS, NNM 161. 256 pages, 25 plates. Extensive background information, coin listings. Definitive. As new, fresh. 3. Hendin, David. A GUIDE TO BIBLICAL COINS. 1987. 206 pages, 16 plates. Arranged by era and region, detailied historic background, line drawings and coin listings--a very useful volume on this topic. There are later, larger editions but this provides an excellent background reference in and of itself. Fine copy. Blue dust jacket, dark blue cloth. 4. M. Mortensen. ROMAN COIN PRICE YEARBOOK 1996/7. A huge (and very expensive at the time) 518 page effort to represent all auction prices for Roman coins for 1995 and 1996--10,000 auction prices. Organized by RIC number, the prices may no longer be relevant but the relative values and the record of what did come to the market during that period is useful. Fine copy.
