Caracalla Æ17 of Rhesaena, Mesopotamia. AD 198-217. NON ΩNIN(?), laureate head right / C...PAN... (?), Sagittarius running right, drawing a bow; above, uncertain object, possibly a pinnate Phrygian helmet. Unpublished in the standard references, for similar Sagittarius legionary reverse types cf. K.O. Castelin, "The Coinage of Rhesaena in Mesopotamia", in ANSNNM 108, 1946, of Caracalla nos. 5, 6 and of Elagabalus cf. 14-16. 5.14g, 17mm, 6h.
