Germanicus, son of Nero Claudius Drusus and Antonia (died 19 AD). AE Dupondius, Struck under Gaius (Caligula), 37-41 AD. Obv. GERMANICVS CAESAR. Germanicus, bare-headed and draped, standing right in chariot, holding eagle-tipped sceptre and reins in left hand, driving triumphal quadriga right. Rev. SIGNIS-RECEPT/DEVICTIS-GERM/ S-C in three lines to left and right of Germanicus, bare-headed, wearing cuirass and short tunic, standing left, right hand raised and left holding aquila.
