Carus (282-283). AV Avreus, late 282-early 283 AD. Cyzicus mint. Obv. IMP C M AVR CARVS P F AVG. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. VIRTVS CARI INVICTI AVG. Hercules standing right, leaning on club with lion's skin on rock and resting his left on his hip; in exergue, crescent. RIC 117. AV. g. 4.50 mm. 20.20 RRR. Extremely rare, probably the third known example. Holed and replugged at 12 o'clock of obv., otherwise Good VF.
