Greek Coinage
Macedonia, Acanthus

Tetradrachm, about 470 BC, AR 17.26 g. Lioness (?) r., attacking bull kneeling l.; below triple exergual line, bucranium. Rev. Shallow four-part incuse square. Desneux cf. 79, 85 (obverse die stylistically very close, but with large pellet above) and 88 (symbol: scallop shell).
Very rare. Struck on a broad flan and with a lovely iridescent tone, slightly
double struck on reverse, otherwise about extremely fine
