Rare. A superb portrait of fine style struck on a very fresh metal. Light iridescent
tone, areas of weakness, otherwise good extremely fine
This coin was probably issued from mid January to the beginning of February 44 BC. Depicting the portrait of Caesar was a revolutionary change in Roman republican coinage in that for the first time a living person was portrayed on a coin. A very typical image of Julius Caesar in exceptionally fine style. AMP.
