This issue, according to Alföldi, was struck shortly after Julius Caesar's assassination, and thus represents an early posthumous portrait. However, a more recent chronology attributes all of Caesar's portrait denarii to his lifetime. Worth mentioning are Caesar's title (Parens Patriae) and his typical portrait. AMP.
