Denarius, Caesaraugusta (?) circa 19–18 BC, AR 3.57 g. CAESAR – AVGVSTVS Oak-wreathed head r. Rev. DIVVS – IVLIVS Eight-rayed comet with tail upwards. C 98. BMC 323. RIC 37a. CBN 1292.
Light old cabinet tone, flan crack at seven o'clock on reverse and a minor
area of weakness on obverse, otherwise about extremely fine

Ex Spink Numismatic Circular CXX 2013, RM 4672.
A very nice example of the Spanish portrait type from Caesaraugusta. The style is very delicate and attractive. The reverse with the comet of Julius Caesar adds historical importance to this coin. AMP.
