The Roman Empire
Octavian as Augustus, 27 BC – 14 AD

C. Marius C.f. Tromentina. Denarius 13 BC, AR 3.83 g. AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus r.; behind, lituus. Rev. C MARIVS TRO – III – VIR Diademed and draped bust of Julia as Diana r., quiver on far shoulder. C 1. BMC 104. RIC 403. CBN 522.
Very rare. Two superb portraits and a lovely old cabinet tone, minor areas
of porosity, otherwise about extremely fine / extremely fine

Ex Rauch 84, 2009, 336 and Gorny & Mosch 215, 2013, Zobel 80, sales.

While Julia's name is not mentioned on the coin, the attribution of Diana to Julia is convincing, also because another coin of the Roman mint produced at the same time shows Julia's portrait between her two sons with the same hairstyle, which is also known from portrait sculpture. AMP
