The Roman Empire
Octavian as Augustus, 27 BC – 14 AD

As, Nemausus circa 10-14 AD, Æ 12.63 g. IMP / P - P / DIVI F Heads of Agrippa and Augustus back to back, the former wearing combined rostral crown and laurel wreath, the latter wearing an oak wreath. Rev. COL – NEM Crocodile r., chained to palm-tree with long, vertical fronds; at the top of the tree, wreath with long ties. C 9. RIC 159. RPC 525.
Two lovely portraits and a superb dark green patina, minor areas of weakness and
usual adjustments marks, otherwise extremely fine

Ex Peus sale 400, 2010, 296.
Similiar to the earlier Nemausus as (lot 1034), this is clearly to be dated later as it includes the title Pater Patriae. AMP.
