The Roman Empire
Elagabalus, 218 – 222
Elagabal, son of Julia Soemias and grandson of Julia Domna's sister Julia Maesa, has multiple portrait types on coins, maturing from child to a young man. Famous are the portraits of his second to last year with the presumed "bull penis" on his head. This attribute disappears again in his last year. AMP.
