The Roman Empire
Paulina, wife of Maximinus I

Paulina's only portrait type bears a surprisingly close resemblance to that of her husband and son Maximus'; one wonders whether this is a faithful depiction or if it is simply a device employed to show dynastic continuity. The next two coins are typical examples. AMP.
