The Roman Empire
Philip I, 244 – 249.
Philip I Arabs's portraits follow one type, though the quality of execution differs depending on the skills of the die engraver. His portrait type is for me the prototype of a soldier emperor's portrait of the mid 3rd century. Short cut hair, trimmed beard, and a determined, almost fierce facial expression. AMP.

It has been discussed if some tetradrachms at this time were actually minted in Rome and only shipped to the East. Be that as it may, their portrait quality is very high and very aligned to the Roman portrait type. AMP.
