Maxentius and his son Romulus were not acknowledged by the tetrarchic emperors, but their images follow the tetrarchic portrait style of the period. Exceptional facing portraits exist in silver and gold denominations, examples of which will be shown in the upcoming portrait book (see introduction to this catalogue). AMP.
