Hsüan-t'ung silver Specimen Pattern Dollar Year 3 (1911) SP62 PCGS, Central Mint at Tientsin, L&M-31, Kann-225, Wenchao page 134, #115 (rarity 3 stars), Obv. Four Manchu characters above (Silver coin of the great Qing Dynasty), four Hanzi characters below (Year 3 of Xuantong), in the center, in Hanzi (Silver coin of the Great Qing Dynasty). Rev. Reversed Imperial dragon with end of tail at 3 o'clock on right, rather than on left as with most of the 1911 patterns, with horizontal moustache on the dragon and value in center. Superbly struck, with satiny surfaces and bright luster. This type is one of several Year 3 (1911) dollar patterns as proposed types for the 1911 Empire Dollar. Exceedingly rare.
