Anhwei. Kuang-hsü Dollar Year 24 (1898) MS63 PCGS, Anking mint, L&M-204 (small rosette), KM-Y45.2, Kann-53a. A very scarce variety that is seldom seen in such nice condition. The strike is a tiny bit soft on the dragon's scales, but no evidence of wear is apparent. The surfaces exhibit only a very few tiny marks. Luster is evident beneath light gray obverse toning, with darker gray in small areas around the periphery. The reverse has a lustrous gray patina with minor areas of light russet. An extremely nice example of this very scarce type.
Estimate: 15000-20000 USD
