Kiangnan. Kuang-hsü 5 Cents CD 1899 MS63 NGC, Nanking mint, KM-Y141a, L&M-228. A scarce minor issue and downright rare in this level of preservation. Full mint luster accentuates choice surfaces without significant marks or abrasions. The late die-state is evidenced by some softness in the reverse characters and the early stages of a die-break that would have ended the functional use of the die, perhaps explaining the scarcity of this issue if few dies were prepared for this cyclical date.
