Sinkiang. Kuang-hsü gold 2 Mace (Miscals) ND (1906) AU58 PCGS, Tihwa mint, L&M-1050, KM-Y9, Kann-1507, Fr-7b. Rev. Inscription within a circle, "Army Ration Gold 2 Mace." Obv. Dragon, with Turki inscription. One of two gold issues (the other being a 1 Mace) struck from 5000 Taels of gold in Sinkiang. The 2 Mace was struck of a size to conform to the British gold Sovereign. Sinkiang produced a large number of silver coins, but the gold issues were produced in very small quantities, for only four months, by the Sinkiang military Governor and are very rare. This example is well struck, with abundant remaining luster. A few minor marks are noted, along with a small ink collection, or museum, mark at the bottom of the reverse. This mark in no way damages the coin.
