Republic Yuan Shih-kai "Hat Touches Rim" Pattern Dollar ND (1916) MS63 NGC, L&M-945, KM-Pn52, Kann-664a. Obv. Facing bust with plumed hat touching rim. Rev. Dragon flying left. Very rare variety with the plumes of hat touching rim. Lustrous with the normal crude strike typical of this issue. The surfaces display bright mint luster, with light reddish patina. Numerous die striations are noted, as struck. Extremely rare in Mint State, with only a single example certified finer by NGC and PCGS combined.
